Leica Microsystems appoints new sales managers

May 31, 2005 — Leica Microsystems of Wetzlar, Germany, announced the appointment of two new sales managers for its Microelectronic Inspection Equipment (MIE) business unit.

Thomas Breser, currently the director of strategic marketing and communications, will also take over as the director of sales, Europe and DSA (direct sales area). Maarten Kramer, currently head of global sales and service, will also become vice president of sales, North America.

The company says the appointments underline a more customer-oriented strategy that was also evident in Leica’s recent reorganization of its semiconductor division into two business units — lithography systems and microelectronic inspection systems.
