QuantumSphere to provide nanosilver for skin care products

May 24, 2005 — QuantumSphere Inc., manufacturer of metallic nanopowders, announced today that it will supply nanosilver to Dermacia, a manufacturer of therapeutic cosmetics and skincare products. Dermacia’s team of dermatologists and plastic surgeons will validate the performance and value of nanosilver and other nanometals for their antibacterial, sun protectant and other key properties.

The Costa Mesa-based QuantumSphere manufactures and sells nanopowder renderings of several elemental minerals. Dermacia, headquartered in Newport Beach, Calif., combines biotechnology, cosmeceuticals, cosmetics and nanotechnology, to serve as the technology hub for skin care products.
