Coventor, Cadence link on MEMS software

Feb. 12, 2003 — Coventor Inc. is teaming up with Cadence Design Systems Inc. to offer new MEMS design software, according to a news release.

The firms will sell software that integrates Coventor’s MEMS-specific design tools with integrated circuit (IC) design software from Cadence. Coventor will sell the new bundles under the name CoventorWare for Cadence.

Coventor officials said the partnership will allow MEMS and IC designers the potential to share design and simulation data, which will boost development and productivity. The firms have sent out samples of the software with select capabilities, and will make it broadly available by midyear, the release said.
