Solaris Synergy is promoting floating concentrated photovoltaics (F-CPV), which it says could exploit lakes, reservoirs, and other bodies of water, both cooling the solar installations electronics, and preventing algae excesses caused by sunlight hitting water surfaces. The floating solar array could more easily track the sun than land-tied solar farms, says Solaris Synergy.
According to the Concentrated Photovoltaics Industry Report, concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) installations in the US will grow from 1.5MW to 75MW in the next five years.
